Treetops caters for 90 children between the ages of 3 months and 5 years.

Baby Unit

BABY UNIT - Snowflake Room - 3-10 months

This special self-contained baby unit cares for babies from the age of 3 months - 10 months.

The childcare team in this room has been selected for their caring, calming, gentleness towards this age group and will provide your baby with lots of love, cuddles and attention which is a must in these first few precious months. We pride ourselves in meeting the needs of all the babies in our care. Therefore, liasing with parents/guardians is of utmost importance to ensure that the dietary needs, sleep patterns and comforting preferences are met.

This unit offers it's own private grassed area where our babies can be taken outside to play and enjoy the fresh air, which we feel is essential for healthy development.

BABY UNIT - Sunshine Room - 10-14 months

As part of the baby unit, this room caters for children aged approximately 10 - 14 months, who whilst they are small babies are becoming more mobile and robust in their play.

The toys and equipment in this room provide a wide variety of developmental experiences, encouraging skills such as language development, shape and colour recognition and early mathematics.

Our qualified and experienced staff will ensure that your child receives individual attention as well as group care. Cuddles and stability are a must in these precious first years.

TODDLER UNIT - Moonbeam Room - 14 months-20 months

This room caters for children aged 14 months - 20 months. We usually find that at this age, children are at a stage where they need more stimulation than can be provided in our baby unit, but they are not quite ready to advance into Rainbow Room. Due to the fact that the children are eager to experience new and exciting activities, Treetops provides Moonbeam Room as a transition phase to make your child's progress as smooth as possible.

The wide range of toys, construction and activities that we provide invite co-operative play and other social skills by encouraging turn-taking and relationships with other children.

TODDLER UNIT - Rainbow Room - 20 months-30 months

This room caters for children aged approximately 20 months - 30 months. We have many different activities to offer these children who are now developing at a fast pace and are eager to experience that little bit more.

Stories, singing, rhymes and conversation play an important part in helping children expand on their ever-growing vocabulary, knowledge and confidence.

We hope that your child's time in Rainbow Room will provide them with a good foundation in simple colour, number and shape recognition by way of learning through play. Most of all we wish to equip them with the social skills to enable them to move smoothly up to our pre-school when they are at the right stage.

Pre-School

Stars Room

PRE SCHOOL - Star Room and Comet Room

Our Pre-School rooms have an ongoing curriculum which is based on learning through play.

We use varied activities such as construction toys, books and stories, tactile play, arts and crafts, role-playing, drawing, computer skills, puzzles and games to achieve all the learning goals as set out in the Government's Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage.

The activities used in these sessions are suitable for all children and can be easily adapted (either expanded or simplified) to meet the needs of all the children. Staff give children 100% support and guidance where needed through appropriate interaction during play activities.

Older children will have the opportunity to take part in a pre-school class, which will concentrate on the early skills of writing and numbers and early I.T. skills. This is introduced by the use of structured activities, projects and worksheets, which will coincide and link in with the educational play activities set out for each day. Music and Spanish classes will be offered at this time.
